Titans Down North Park, 83-77, in CCIW Battle

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Junior Sean Johnson scored 21 points and handed out nine assists as the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team downed North Park, 83-77, at the Shirk Center on Jan.24. The Titans improved to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

Three other Titans scored in double figures - junior Doug Sexauer scored 17 and had a game-high 12 rebounds; sophomore Jordan Zimmer had 12 (all on 3-point baskets) and junior Travis Rosenkranz added 11.

The Titans, who outrebounded the Vikings 43-29, shot 50 percent from the field (30 of 60) and connected on 10 of 24 3-point fielders (42 percent). North Park also shot 50 percent (29 of 58) but made only six of 14 treys and hit just 13 of 24 free throw attempts.

The Vikings (10-7, 4-2 CCIW) had four players score in double digits, led by Emmanuel Crosby with 17. Nick Williams had 13, Roshawn Russell scored 12 and Nick Hoekstra came off the bench to contribute 10.

The Augustana Vikings (11-6 overall, 4-2 CCIW) come to the Shirk Center for a 7:30 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 27.
