ELMHURST, Ill. - Led by 36 combined points from juniors
Sean Johnson and
Travis Rosenkranz, the Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball team won at Elmhurst, 77-67, on Jan. 17.
The Titans improved to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin and the 13 victories equals the total from the 2008-09 squad (that finished 13-12).
Johnson had a game-high 21 points and Rosenkranz added 15 for Illinois Wesleyan while junior
Doug Sexauer added 14 points. Junior
Edmond O'Callaghan scored nine points and snared a game-best 12 rebounds.
Rosenkranz also handed out eight assists.
IWU, who led 34-28 at halftime, shot .520 from the field in the contest (26 of 50) and the teams tied with 34 rebounds each.
Elmhurst (5-10 overall, 0-4 CCIW) was led by the 16 points of Zack Boyd and 16 from Mike McCurdy. The Bluejays shot .441 from the field (26 of 59) and made only three of 14 3-pointers (.214).
Both teams committed 12 turnovers.
