Stacy Hassinger and
Erica Woodall earned weekly honors from the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin in volleyball and women's golf, respectively, on Sept. 22.
Hassinger, a sophomore setter from Noblesville, Ind. (Westville High School), averaged 12.73 assist per set in three Titan wins last week. She had 50 assists, three block assists, a kill and nine digs in a 3-1 win over Wheaton on Sept. 15. Hassinger had 45 assists against both St. Scholastica, a 3-1 win, and Webster, a 3-0 win, on Sept. 19 at the Illinois Wesleyan Triangular. She also had nine digs and six kills against St. Scholastica and five digs and three service aces against Webster.
Woodall, a junior from Normal, Ill. (University High School), finished sixth out of 112 players at the 2009 Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic held Sept. 19-20. Woodall shot an 82 on the first day, then finished the event with a four over par 76 in rainy conditions.
Elmhurst senior middle hitter Caitlin O'Hara was the CCIW "Offensive Player of the Week" in volleyball as she led Elmhurst to a 2-0 league record last week. She totaled a team-leading nine kills and registered two blocks in a 3-0 win over North Park on Sept.15. Two nights later, O'Hara hit .558 with 12 kills to lift Elmhurst to a 3-1 win over Wheaton. O'Hara added two aces in the win over the Thunder. For the week, O'Hara hit .385 and averaged 3.00 kills per game.
