Dan Chang and freshman
Brian Piotrowskiwere chosen to the first team of the all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin squad for men's tennis.
Playing at No. 1 singles, Chang (Palos Hills, Ill., Stagg HS) was 9-12 and was 10-14 overall with a 2-3 mark against conference opponents. This is the third year for Chang to earn all-CCIW honors.
Chang also teamed with
Paul Oehrlein (Des Plaines, Ill., Maine West HS) for a 3-2 CCIW record at No. 1 doubles and the pair was 10-14 overall.
Piotrowski (Palatine, Ill., Fremd HS) was 15-5 at No. 2 singles and was 3-2 in conference play and 19-6 overall. In the CCIW tourney, Piotrowski defeated Elmhurst's David Devaney, 6-1, 6-2, Wheaton's Ian Kirchner, 6-3, 6-4, and Greg Ruth of Augustana, 6-2, 6-3.
Playing at No. 2 doubles with
Michael Christison (Morton, Ill., HS), Piotrowski was 15-5 and 4-1 against other conference No. 2 teams.
The Illinois Wesleyan team finished fourth in the CCIW championships. The No. 3-seeded Titans defeated Elmhurst, 6-1, before losing to Wheaton, 7-2, and then Augustana, 6-3, in the third place match.
The Titans' dual match record was 11-10 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
