Six Titans All-CCIW in Baseball; Ladd, Moore First Team

Complete CCIW 2009 All-Conference Team

Illinois Wesleyan junior outfielder Kraig Ladd and junior second baseman Brett Moore were chosen to the first team and four others named to the second team of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-star baseball squads as named by coaches.

Named to the second team were junior outfielder Mike Morrissey, junior first baseman Casey McIntosh and pitchers Jason Pankau and Pat Kirchhofer.

Ladd (Shelbyville, Ill., HS) batted .321 with five doubles, four home runs and 19 runs batted in against the league. He was fourth in the conference with seven stolen bases.

Moore (Bloomington, Ill., HS) was third in the CCIW with a .410 average and tied for the league lead with 34 hits. He was second in the conference with 25 runs scored.

Morrissey (Grayslake, Ill., Carmel HS) batted .342 with four doubles and a home run in CCIW play.

McIntosh (Columbia, Mo., Hickman HS) hit .274 with four doubles and five home runs in conference action. His 24 runs batted in was second among CCIW players.

Pankau (Elmhurst, Ill., York HS), a sophomore, went 4-0 in league play with a 2.93 earned run average. He struck out 30 in 30 2/3 innings and walked only five.

Kirchhofer (Wheaton, Ill., North HS), a junior, was fourth in the CCIW with a 2.10 ERA and had a 3-1 record. He struck out 26 and walked eight in 30 innings.

The Titans finished with a 14-7 conference mark, good for a second place finish. and ended their season with a 24-16 overall record.
