Titans Fall to Thunder, 3-2

Box Score Wheaton's Tim Urbanowicz limited Illinois Wesleyan to five hits and the Thunder scored two runs in the eighth to earn a 3-2 win over the Titans on April 22 at Horenberger Field.

The Titans had their five-game winning streak ended and fell to 20-9 overall and 11-4 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin while the Thunder improved to 18-15 overall and 10-6 in the league.

IWU scored once in the third when senior shortstop Tim Marzec led off with a walk, stole second and scored on a single to right center by junior second baseman Brett Moore.
The Titans went ahead 2-1 in the sixth when Bob Huppert reached on a fielder's choice and took second and third on wild pitches. He scored two batters later when Marzec grounded into a fielder's choice.

The Thunder scored in the eighth as Danny Pyne led off with a single, went to third on a double by Charlie Antal and both scored on an error off a ball hit by Brian Whartnaby.

Paul Kabbes (2-1) was the losing pitcher, striking out four in 2 2/3 innings in relief of Alex Tosi, who scattered six hits and struck out six in 6 1/3 innings. Urbanowicz improved to 7-1.
