Illinois Wesleyan senior lefthander Joe Froelich was named "Pitcher of the Week" for baseball in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin on Tuesday, April 21.

Froelich, a senior business major from River Forest, Ill. (Oak Park-River Forest HS), improved to 5-2 on the season as he pitched eight shutout innings in an 8-0 win at North Park on April 18. Froelich allowed five hits and walked one as the Vikings hit .179 against him with only one extra base hit, a double.

Wheaton sophomore outfielder Charlie Antal earned the CCIW "Batter of the Week" honor as he batted .533 (eight-for-15) with 12 RBI and seven runs scored in four Thunder wins. He belted four home runs, a double and a triple, had a 1.533 slugging percentage and a .632 on-base percentage. In a doubleheader vs. Elmhurst April 18, Antal was six-for-eight with four home runs, two walks and 10 RBI.
