Titans Play at Whitewater in NCAA Saturday

2009 Football Game Notes, Illinois Wesleyan at Wis.-Whitewater, Nov. 28

Fresh off a double overtime win at home against Wabash, the Illinois Wesleyan football team plays at No. 2 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater at 12 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens and parking is also $4 at Perkins Stadium.

Illinois Wesleyan has a 3-2 record in NCAA Division III playoff games. In winning the 2009 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin title and owning the tie-breaker over North Central, IWU earned the school’s first automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III playoffs.
This is IWU’s third overall showing in the NCAA playoffs and first since 1996.

The Warhawks are no stranger to the NCAA Division III playoffs – this is the school’s fifth straight and ninth overall appearance since 1996 and they have a record of 20-7. Wis.-Whitewater has played Mount Union in the national title game the past four seasons, winning the Division III championship in 2007 and losing to the Purple Raiders in 2005, 2006, and 2008.

Amanda LaRocca amassed 24.5 points in the 2010 NCAA Division III outdoor track championships, which would have put her in 10th place among the 77 competing teams in the meet, which was won by IWU.
