Alli Novak has been elected to the first team of the college division all-District V academic women's soccer squad and will join representatives of seven other districts on the
ESPN: The Magazine Academic All-America national ballots.
Novak, the Titans' starting goalkeeper, has a 3.56 grade-point average majoring in business (marketing) at IWU. For the 15-2-2 Titans this fall she has a 0.67 goals against average with eight shutouts and 30 saves.
In her career she has 24 shutouts, placing her second all-time at IWU behind the record of 28 by Emily Castner (2003-06).
She was a second team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin choice and had two shutouts in NCAA Division III tournament play as a sophomore. An academic all-conference honoree, she has been the CCIW "Player of the Week" once this season and once in 2008.
A product of Naperville, Ill., North High School, she is the daughter of Mike and Eileen Novak.
The all-district teams are chosen by a vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario. To be considered for the ESPN: The Magazine Academic All-America squads, players must be of at least sophomore standing, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 (of 4.0), and be a starter or first-line reserve.
