CCIW All-Conference Women's Tennis Team 2009
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan freshman
Helen Alex has been chosen to the first team of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-league squads by coaches on Oct. 14.
Alex (Hinsdale South HS) finished second at No. 1 singles in the CCIW tournament, losing in the finals tto Wheaton's Elizabeth Worsowicz, 6-1, 6-1. Worsowicz was the CCIW "Player of the Year."
Alex also teamed with freshman
Liz Exo for a third place finish at No. 1 doubles in the CCIW tourney, topping the North Central team of Cory Schillerstrom and Alicia DeGrado, 8-6.
For the season Alex was 6-5 overall in singles and 3-3 against CCIW opponents. In doubles she and Exo were 7-7 overall.
Helen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Alex of Darien, Ill.
