Illinois Wesleyan improved to 18-16 with a pair of nonconference wins against teams in Greencastle, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 1. Illinois Wesleyan defeated Marian, 22-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-14, then took a 25-23, 21-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-12 over DePauw. Against Marian, Michele Malinowski had 18 kills and 11 digs, while Gaby Johnson had 16 kills. Stacy Hassinger had 54 assists and 18 digs. In the DePauw match, Johnson had 20 kills, tied for ninth most in an IWU match since 2003. Hassinger had 45 assists and 15 digs and Jackie Wrobel had 21 and 20 defensive digs in the two games, respectively. The Titans will host Augustana (20-10, 2-5 CCIW) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4 in the play-in game for the conference tournament.
